Centrifuge dewatering process refers to the residual solid residue after dewatering wet sludge by drainage or filtration. After various dehydration treatments, the moisture content is reduced to 65% ~ 85% and has become wet soil sludge. The non-toxic dewatered sludge can be directly used as fertilizer in farmland. The moisture content of the sediment in the process of wastewater treatment reaches 99%. In order to reduce its volume and facilitate transportation and further treatment, some moisture must be removed before sludge treatment.
The working principle is the suspension is fed into the drum through the feeding pipe and screw discharging hole. Under the effect of centrifugal force, the heavier solid will be accumulated on the drum , meanwhile, the screw blade will scrape the products down. Solid product will be extracted by the screw pushing device (mechanical extrusion and centrifuge extrusion). The solid products are discharged through discharging hole. Liquids after separation will overflow through the plate layer. The relative movement between drum and screw can be called differential speed（Δn） and driven by differential gear, the differential speed is controlled by main motor and assist motor. Main motor drives the drum by belt and the drum is connected to the housing of differential gear(drum speed, n1). The input shaft of differential gear is connected with assist motor through coupling(tumbler speed, n2). Output shaft of differential gear is connected with the screw body which ensures the differential gear can give a determined torque to the screw. The continuous separation can be reached. This centrifuge has good seal performance which processes the products under the hermetical situation. The surrounding is clean.
Filter presses consume less energy and are easier to maintain. Filter presses do require a larger site footprint and is the act or process of removing something unwanted from a liquid. Centrifuges are best used to process large amounts of sludge and the process of separating the lighter parts of a solution or mixture, but have higher power and maintenance costs.
