Understanding the Basic Structure of Pusher Centrifuges

Double-stage piston pusher centrifuge is a highly efficient filtering centrifuge for continuous operation, suitable for dewatering and washing various granular and fibrous suspensions of >50µm particles continuously. For instance, sodium salts, ammonium salts, potassium salts, melamine, PVC, and others—more than 200 types of material can be separated. This article will provide a detailed introduction to the basic structure of the pusher centrifuge.

Pusher centrifuge casing components

This component consists of the casing, feed pipe, front cover plate, door, washing pipe, and other parts. It primarily handles the supply of materials to be separated and the collection of separated solids and liquids, while also providing safety protection.

Pusher centrifuge drum components

The drum is the main working component that performs separation, composed of the first and second-stage drums, screen blocks, pusher plates, and other parts. Materials are evenly spread inside the drum through the feed pipe and feed distributor for solid-liquid separation. This component is precisely dynamically balanced, and the shape and weight of its parts should not be arbitrarily changed during use. During maintenance, radial and face runout must be strictly controlled.

Pusher centrifuge bearing housing components

This component consists of the hollow shaft, pusher shaft, bearing housing, bearings, and shaft sleeves. The hollow shaft is supported by front and rear roller bearings and lubricated by an external copper pipe that delivers lubricating oil. The pusher shaft is supported by front and rear shaft sleeves; the latter connects with the pressure oil cylinder, controlling the lubrication oil volume through a small section. These parts require strict coaxiality and axial clearance during processing and assembly. Both ends of the bearing housing have labyrinth seals to protect the system from harmful substances.

Pusher centrifuge hydraulic components

This component consists of the oil pump, overflow valve, governor, cooler, pressure gauge, pressure hose, thermometer, and other electromechanical parts, including the lubricating oil supply system. The oil pump motor drives the oil pump to rotate, generating pressure oil that enters the cylinder via pipes. During the oil return process, hydraulic oil is cooled and returns to the oil tank (the base). When working oil pressure exceeds the set value (8MPa), the overflow valve automatically opens to unload.

Pusher centrifuge cylinder components

This component consists of the pressure cylinder, pusher piston, guide rod, slide valve, guide valve, cylinder cover, oil inlet and outlet housing, oil seal, locking nut, and other parts. Pressure oil enters the cylinder through this component, causing the piston to produce axial reciprocating motion under the influence of an internal directional device. The pusher shaft and the first-stage drum, connected to the piston, also perform the same motion, continuously pushing the filter cake out with immense axial thrust. All moving parts require high machining precision, and connecting parts must meet high strength requirements.

Pusher centrifuge base components

The base supports the entire machine; its upper surface is the installation reference plane for the bearing housing, oil pump, and motor parts. The bottom serves as the oil tank and is equipped with a liquid level gauge for monitoring if the oil level is maintained at 2/3 of the gauge height.

Through the above introduction of the pusher centrifuge working principle and basic structure, we hope to help you better understand this efficient filtering centrifuge. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us.
